Asbestos skip hire
A dedicated, lockable skip
for asbestos only.
The right answer for whole garage roofs, sheds and outbuilding strip-outs: a sealed, asbestos-only skip delivered to your drive, collected by our licensed crew, consignment paperwork included. A near-unique product — we’re one of only two firms licensed for it in our area.
When the skip beats the collection.
A collection suits a stack of wrapped sheets. A dedicated skip suits a job — stripping a whole roof over a weekend, clearing an outbuilding, working at your own pace with somewhere legal to put each sheet as it comes down.
- Asbestos only — by law nothing else goes in, which protects your paperwork trail
- Lockable: no passer-by “contributions” overnight, which matter far more with hazardous waste
- Delivered and collected by our own licensed crew, on your dates
- Hazardous waste consignment note completed on your behalf — your copy left with you
- Disposal through our own licensed asbestos transfer station, then approved facilities
- Wrap kit available as an add-on: sheets still need wrapping before they go in
The compliance gate, explained
Booking online asks you to confirm two things: the material is cement-bonded (rigid sheets — not crumbly lagging or loose insulation), and it will be double-wrapped and sealed before it goes in. They’re legal requirements, not small print. Fibrous or loose material needs an HSE-licensed removal contractor — call us and we’ll tell you straight which you have.
Asbestos skip questions.
Why can’t asbestos go in a normal skip?
Because one sheet contaminates the entire load: the whole skip then has to be treated — and charged — as hazardous waste, and the transfer station that accepted it unknowingly has a serious problem. Dedicated skips keep the waste stream clean and your paperwork honest. It’s also simply illegal.
Do wrapped sheets still need wrapping inside the skip?
Yes. Double-wrapped before they go in — the skip is containment and transport, not a substitute for wrapping. Add our wrap kit at booking if you need the materials.
Can the skip go on the road?
Yes, with the usual council permit, which we arrange — though for asbestos we always recommend private land where possible, and the lockable lid stays down whenever you’re not loading.
What does it cost to keep it longer?
£15 per day beyond the included 7 days — same as our general skips. Set the hire length when you book or call to extend.
Strip the roof. We’ll handle the rest.
